These are life's little lessons and anecdotes that I would have loved to have shared with our son Pharell, who passed away on 12/14/09 (infant death in my 6th month of pregnancy). Now, I can pass these on to Drew and his future siblings! Learn from life and pass it on. Someone else will surely benefit from your experiences!
1. Sometimes, you just have to let stupid, ignorant folks be just that...stupid and ignorant! Being dumb is a disease I don't want to contract!
2. Make sure you marry for love! In tough times, love is all you've got!
3. Beauty fades, but ugly is forever! "Attractiveness" is inside-out!
4. Make sure you can make your significant other laugh. When you're older, and reminiscing about the "good times", you'll want to laugh more than you cry!
5. Blood is most DEFINITELY thicker than water! Keep your family near & dear!
6. Just because someone smiles in your face, that doesn't mean they won't stab you in the back! Choose your friends WISELY!
7. "If they talked about Jesus, what makes you think they won't talk about you?!?" (via my Grandma - R.I.P!)
8. Use your God-given gifts! If you're still alive on this Earth, God has a plan for you...don't give up on your dreams!
9. EACH ONE, TEACH ONE! It take a village to raise a child!
10. Books now, girls later! (Enough said! LOL!)
11. Your behavior in corporate America does NOT equal your behavior in the real world! Just because you can scream & holler at someone at Wal-Mart who runs over your toe with a shopping cart, doesn't mean you can use the same actions with a co-worker!
12. You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar! Try just being nice sometimes; you'll be surprised at the reception of your behavior!
13. Knowledge is POWER! Get an education; it's one thing that NO ONE can take from you. And by education, I don't necessarily mean school. However, try reading a book, going to the library or researching things on the Internet. Learn something, ANYTHING, today!
14. Be a gentleman (lady) and always say your "pleases" and "thank yous". Kindness is always noticed and never goes unappreciated!
15. Try to go to a new place, in town or out of town, at least once a month. Learn more about the world around you. The world is bigger than your backyard!
